Autumn seminars: London 24 November 2016 and Nottingham 29 November 2016
Integra Legal have confirmed dates for our autumn employment law update seminars. This autumn we will be discussing Brexit, harassment and our employment law update
The seminars are taking place in London on Thursday 24th November and Nottingham on Tuesday 29th November – please see below for full details and booking links.
Key issues we will be discussing this Autumn:
Brexit – what does this mean for employers and UK employment law?
The UK seems to be heading for a “hard” Brexit with the formal process starting before the end of March 2017. Most of the employment legislation which employers have to contend with is derived from European law. We discuss what Brexit means for employment law and what employers should do to prepare for this.
Harassment claims – essential steps to protect your business
We have seen a rise in the number of employees making allegations of sexual and racial harassment. A recent TUC report on sexual harassment found that more than half of all women polled experienced some form of sexual harassment in the work place. Coupled with the highest award for a claim of sex discrimination in 2014/2015 being £557,039.00 and the average being £13,500.00 this remains a serious issue of concern for your business.
Whilst the impact of harassment is significant for the victim it can be equally as damaging for employers causing disruption to productivity, staff retention issues and costly employment tribunal claims. Given this we will explain:
- What constitutes unlawful harassment
- The importance of implementation and enforcement of policies
- Essential training for management, staff and all employees
- How your business can give itself a defence to claims of unlawful harassment and discrimination.
Employment law update – recent developments and what to expect
To cap the seminar off we will give you a quick run through of what to expect in employment law.
